This extension builds on from the existing facility developed around the turn of the century. Due to the downhill nature of flow in the existing facility new levels were imposed to help mitigate this issue. A range of new features were positioned appropriately to give users new play opportunities, flow and movement between the new and old environment.
The new features in the skatepark include a rising quarterpipe, quarterpipe extension with diamond grind coping, transitioned bank to ledge, ledges and a new manual pad. The existing skatepark will also receive a resurfacing grind to improve its surface and edging quality.
"The facility was elongated due to the characteristics of the site. The Skate Path was a great idea that allows for a 120m long flow line with a diverse range of obstacles."
