Turangi located South-west of Taupo has had a new skatepark built as part of the development of a Youth Play Area in walking distance from the main town centre.   This skatepark consists of a street skating area that flows into a bowled out mini ramp with extension and stepped seating adjacent. Several skate obstacles depicting volcano-like shapes or eruptions connect to its location within the North Island Volcanic Plateau of New Zealand. A good variety of skate obstacles have been included in the design while integrating well with other surrounding facilities.

"The facility was elongated due to the characteristics of the site. The Skate Path was a great idea that allows for a 120m long flow line with a diverse range of obstacles."
